2017 Tannat "Titan"
Tannat originated in Southwest France and has recently been gaining popularity all over the world.
This wine is 100% Tannat grown in the Paso Robles growing region. It is a varietal that is fast growing a devoted legion of fans of its full-bodied and flavorful profile. This dark wine has distinctive aromas of blueberry and plum, coupled with the tell tale flintiness which distinguishes it from our other wines. It has remarkable depth and attractive flavors of lavender, cola, leather, and fig. It finishes strong with the acid and tannin dominating the palate. It's kind of a masculine style Petite Sirah.

The 2017 vintage saw our drought end with a bang. The wet soils delayed budbreak to a normal time frame and produced such a healthy vineyard that we saw canopy sizes and cane lengths we hadn’t seen in years. The summer began relatively cool but was punctuated by two heat spikes that accelerated ripening and produced intense flavors. The resulting vintage shows the health of the vines with a combination of concentration and freshness with bright acids framing powerful fruit.
