2018 Zenith Estate Cuvée

In Stock
Roasted red plum and hints of dried red flower show on the nose of this blend of 33% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Petit Verdot, 17% Merlot and 17% Malbec. There is a firm tension to the tannic framing of the sip as well as bright acidity, which carry the dried red-fruit and toasted herb flavors. Drink now through 2034. - Matt Kettmann, Wine Enthusiast

Tasting Notes
This wine is our most impressive blend every year. 100% estate grown with only our top tier hand-picked fruit. A rich, almost black color is reminiscent of the midnight sky on a moonless night. The aromatics explode with plum, blueberry, black cherry, and leather with the minerality of our calcareous limestone shining through. A mouthfeel of chocolate, dried herbs, chalk, and ripe fruit are complimented by firm acidity. The finish lingers with a perky balance of tannins reminding you of it's presence and leaving a lasting memory of the experience you'll want to relive again.

Vineyard Notes
The 2018 vintage saw an almost ideal balance of vine health and stress, as is often the case with the first dry year after a very wet one. The rain came late, delaying the onset of bud break and the beginning of the growing season. The cool weather continued most of the year, punctuated by a six-week heatwave in July and early August. Temperatures moderated before picking began and harvest proceeded under slightly cooler than normal conditions producing fruit with intense flavors and good balancing acidity.
