Tasting Notes
With a visually stunning color reminiscent of a peony, the wine itself presents aromatics of fresh
nectarine. The mouthfeel is both firm and full with flavors of ripe strawberry, watermelon, and grapefruit. The finish is long with the red fruit lingering and crisp acidity lasting well into the next sip. Best enjoyed slightly chilled on a warm afternoon. Drink now.
Vineyard Notes
Midnight Cellars was blessed with a good amount of pre-season rainfall for its estate vineyards in 2021. Much of the rain poured during a single storm in late October, sending both the vineyard and production teams in to overdrive for a short time. Although a mad dash was crucial in an effort to get the grapes off the vine, all other aspects of harvest 2021 went smoothly. Resulting in both good yields and quality, Rich Hartenberger and the Midnight Cellars’ team are confident knowing these wines are showing great depth of flavor at lower potential alcohol levels and well-balanced acidity.
